Pikemen retinue has a chance to enter melee phase since day 3 of the battle(if not they will keep using generic skirmish tactic which wont do any good but neither bad)(chance to enter melee after day 3 was removed in patch 2.4.1), whereas, at day 10 they will enter melee phase for sure. Unfortunately, all the generic retinues contain archers, except for the Cavalry retinue, which is 80% LC and 20% HC.
